Product Introduction
Composite insulators, with their advantages such as lightweight design, strong contamination resistance, and resilience to harsh environmental conditions, are used across multiple sectors of the power system—and particularly excel in challenging operational scenarios. These applications can be broadly categorized as follows:
I. Transmission Line Sector (Core Application Scenarios)
High-voltage / Ultra-high-voltage AC and DC lines:
Suitable for voltage levels of 110kV and above (e.g., ±800kV ultra-high-voltage DC lines), this product can replace traditional porcelain/glass insulators, reducing the load on towers and poles (weighing only 1/3 to 1/5 of conventional products). It helps lower both construction and operation/maintenance costs, making it widely used in inter-regional power transmission and long-distance energy delivery projects.
Harsh Environment Lines:
Highly Contaminated Areas: Such as industrial zones (high dust levels), coastal regions (high salt spray), and foggy mountainous areas (prone to condensation). The strong hydrophobic properties of silicone rubber shed covers effectively prevent flashovers caused by contamination.
Special climate zones—extremely cold regions (below -40°C), high-temperature areas (above 120°C), or areas prone to strong winds and frequent lightning—rely on materials with exceptional temperature resistance, vibration tolerance, and arc-proof capabilities to ensure stable line operation.
Special Terrain Routes:
In areas such as mountainous regions, hilly terrains, and routes crossing rivers or streams, the lightweight design makes manual handling and high-altitude installation easier, reducing construction challenges. At the same time, its corrosion-resistant properties ensure durability even in humid, high-moisture environments.
II. Substations and Distribution SystemsEquipment insulation within the substation:
Used for the insulation and fixation of equipment such as busbars, circuit breakers, and disconnect switches—like composite pillar insulators and composite bushing insulators—it can withstand the complex electric field environments found within substations and resists dust accumulation, thereby reducing the frequency of maintenance cleaning.
Distribution line insulation:
In 10kV-35kV medium- and low-voltage distribution lines, these are used as insulating supports for conductors on utility poles, making them particularly suitable for urban distribution networks (where space is limited and lightweight, easy-to-install designs are essential) as well as suburban areas with dusty environments (thanks to their excellent resistance to pollution).
