Coastal regions: salt-spray corrosion-resistant glazed ceramic insulators; High-altitude areas (altitude > 1,000m): "plateau-type" ceramic insulators with increased shed creepage distance.
Typical Use Cases
High-voltage / Ultra-high-voltage transmission lines—such as the ±800kV ultra-high-voltage DC lines used extensively in China’s “West-to-East Electricity Transmission” project—rely heavily on disc-shaped suspension ceramic insulator strings.
Outdoor substations: For 220kV and higher substations, busbar supports and isolator insulations commonly use pillar-type ceramic insulators.
Harsh Environment Zone:
Coastal regions: Salt-spray-resistant glazed ceramic insulators;
High-altitude areas (altitude > 1,000m): "Plateau-type" ceramic insulators with umbrella-shaped creepage distances;
Industrial pollution zones (such as steel plants and cement factories): Pollution-resistant ceramic insulators with double- or triple-umbrella structures;
Low-voltage distribution network: Rural and urban 10kV and lower lines, supported by pin-type ceramic insulators.
